PRIVACY POLICY

This Privacy Policy explains how Driveguard GmbH collects and uses personal data when you visit driveguard.ch, book a chauffeur, or contact us by email, phone or WhatsApp. It also explains which cookies we use and how you can manage them.
We process personal data in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where it applies to you, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. What data we collect
When you book or request a quote
- Name of the person booking and, if different, the name of the passenger
- Email address and mobile number
- Pickup and drop-off addresses, date and time, route and any stops
- Flight or train number, number of passengers and pieces of luggage, child seats needed
- Special requests you choose to share with us, for example accessibility needs or a preferred chauffeur language
- Billing and company details if you need an invoice
When you pay
Online card payments (including Stripe Link) are processed by Stripe and PayPal payments by PayPal. We never see or store your full card number. We receive the payment status, amount and payment reference and, for card payments, the card type and the last four digits. If you pay your chauffeur by card or in cash, we record the amount and the payment method.
When you contact us
The content of your emails, WhatsApp messages, phone calls and contact-form messages, together with your name and contact details.
When you visit our website
Technical data such as IP address, browser and device type, operating system, language settings, the pages you visit, the page you came from, and the date and time of your visit. With your consent, we also collect data through cookies and similar technologies (see section 7).
3. Why we use your data and on what legal basis
- To carry out your booking: planning the ride, assigning a chauffeur, sending your confirmation and your chauffeur's details, following your flight and contacting you on the day. Legal basis: performance of the contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
- Unfinished bookings: if you enter your details at checkout but do not complete the booking, we keep your entries and the trip for up to 30 days so we can hold your quote and send you one reminder about that booking. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in completing a booking you started (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). You can opt out of the reminder with one click, and we never use these details for marketing.
- Payment, invoicing and accounting. Legal basis: contract and legal obligations (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b) and (c)).
- Answering your questions and handling complaints. Legal basis: contract or our legitimate interest in good customer service (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b) and (f)).
- Running and securing the website: delivering pages, preventing misuse and fraud, fixing errors. Legal basis: legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
- Website statistics: understanding how the website is used so we can improve it. Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)).
- Advertising: measuring which of our Google Ads lead to bookings and WhatsApp enquiries, and showing our ads to people who have visited our website. Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)).
- Legal requirements: keeping records as required by law and answering lawful requests from authorities. Legal basis: legal obligation (GDPR Art. 6(1)(c)).
We need your booking details to provide our service; without them we cannot accept a booking. We only send marketing emails if you have agreed to receive them, and you can unsubscribe at any time. We do not sell your personal data.
4. Who receives your data
- Chauffeurs and partner operators who carry out your ride receive only what they need: passenger name, mobile number, pickup details, flight number and booking notes.
- Payment providers: Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe Ltd., Ireland) and PayPal (PayPal (Europe) S.à r.l. et Cie, S.C.A., Luxembourg).
- Website hosting and services: Automattic Inc. (WordPress.com and Jetpack) for hosting, security, image delivery, fonts and visitor statistics, and jsDelivr for delivering website code.
- Google (Google Ireland Ltd. and Google LLC): Google Maps for address suggestions and route distance in the booking form, and, with your consent, Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics and Google Ads (see section 6).
- WhatsApp (WhatsApp Ireland Ltd.) when you choose to message us on WhatsApp.
- Google reviews widget from reviewsonmywebsite.com, which shows our Google reviews on the website.
- IT, email and accounting service providers, and our tax advisers and auditors where required.
- Authorities, courts or the police where we are legally obliged to disclose data or need to protect our rights.
Service providers process personal data on our behalf, only according to our instructions and under appropriate contractual safeguards.
5. Data transfers abroad
Our service providers may process personal data in Switzerland, the EU/EEA and the United States. Where data is transferred to a country without an adequate level of data protection recognised by the Swiss Federal Council or the European Commission, we rely on the recipient's certification under the Swiss-U.S. or EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or on standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission and recognised by the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
6. Statistics and advertising
Google Tag Manager
We use Google Tag Manager to load our Google Analytics and Google Ads tags. Tag Manager itself does not store personal data; the tags it loads only run as described below and according to your cookie choices.
Google Analytics 4
With your consent, Google Analytics records how you use the website: pages viewed, clicks (for example on WhatsApp buttons), device and browser, approximate location and completed bookings (booking number and amount). Google Analytics does not store full IP addresses. Data is kept for no longer than 14 months.
Google Ads
With your consent, we use Google Ads conversion tracking to see when a visit from one of our ads leads to a booking or a WhatsApp enquiry, and remarketing to show our ads to people who have visited our website.
Enhanced conversions: when you complete a booking, your email address and phone number are converted in your browser into a one-way code (SHA-256 hash) before being sent to Google. Google uses this code only to match the booking to a click on one of our ads. The data is used only if you have accepted marketing cookies.
Google Consent Mode
Our Google tags respect your cookie choices. If you decline statistics or marketing cookies, Google tags do not store or read cookies on your device for those purposes. Google may still receive limited signals without cookies, for example that a page was viewed, which are used only to estimate results in aggregate.
Jetpack Stats
Our hosting provider Automattic provides aggregated visitor statistics, such as the number of visits, popular pages and referring websites, through Jetpack Stats.
7. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. Similar technologies include scripts and pixels (web beacons) that collect information when a page loads. Some cookies are placed by us and some by the third-party services listed in this policy.
Categories
- Functional (always active): needed for the website to work, for example to keep your booking in the basket, secure the checkout and remember your cookie choice. These do not require consent.
- Preferences: remember settings you choose so you don't have to enter them again.
- Statistics (with your consent): help us understand how visitors use the website.
- Marketing (with your consent): measure the results of our advertising and show our ads to past visitors.

Managing your choices
When you first visit our website, a banner asks for your consent. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time with the Manage consent link at the bottom of every page. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings; if you block functional cookies, booking online may not work. To manage Google's ad personalisation, visit adssettings.google.com.
8. How long we keep data
- Booking, invoice and accounting records: 10 years, as required by Swiss law (Art. 958f of the Swiss Code of Obligations).
- Emails, WhatsApp messages and other communication: as long as needed to handle your booking and any follow-up questions or claims.
- Website log data: a few weeks, for security and error analysis.
- Unfinished bookings (checkout entries without a completed booking): 30 days, then deleted.
- Statistics and advertising data: according to the cookie durations above; Google Analytics data for no longer than 14 months.
When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.
9. Security
Our website uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Access to booking data is limited to the people who need it to serve you, and our service providers are bound by appropriate security obligations. No transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data.
10. Your rights
Within the limits of applicable law, you have the right to:
- know whether we process your personal data and receive a copy of it;
- have incorrect data corrected and incomplete data completed;
- have your data deleted or its processing restricted;
- object to processing based on our legitimate interests or for marketing purposes;
- receive data you have given us in a common electronic format (data portability);
- withdraw your consent at any time, with effect for the future.
To exercise your rights, write to info@driveguard.ch. We may ask you to confirm your identity. Some data must be kept for legal reasons even if you ask us to delete it.
You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority. In Switzerland this is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), Feldeggweg 1, 3003 Bern, www.edoeb.admin.ch. If you live in the EU/EEA, you can contact the data protection authority in your country.
11. Automated decisions
We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing. Prices are calculated automatically from the route and the vehicle you choose.
12. Children
Bookings must be made by adults. If you book for a child, for example with a child seat, we only use the information you give us to carry out the ride.
13. Links to other websites
Our website links to Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and our sister brand Top Swiss Tours. These are plain links: no data is sent to these services until you click on them. Their own privacy policies apply once you are on their pages.
14. Changes to this policy
We update this Privacy Policy when our services, the services we use or the law change. The current version is always published on this page, with the date of the last update at the top.
